Experience
As a staff geologist at Cotton, Shires and Associates,
Inc. (CSA), Ms. Smith has worked on a variety of projects including monitoring
and logging of well drilling for depressurization wells on quarry projects in
the San Francisco Bay area, logging of borings for the Sycamore Ranchito
Lansdslide Repair project in Santa Barbara, and geologic mapping of city owned
land in South San Francisco. She also
has two years experience in reviewing site development and construction permits
for several Bay Area cities and towns. She has experience completing geologic and
geotechnical peer reviews for
Prior to employment at CSA Ms. Smith developed skills
in geology through participation in university sponsored field trips, GSA
meetings and fieldtrips, and serving as a field assistant to Professors and
fellow masters students at San Jose State University, state funded research
projects, mapping and analysis of masters project field area in Nevada, and
finally through teaching (T.A.) both classroom and field geology courses at San
Jose State University.
