Representative Experience

 

Mr. Mead has over 10 years of professional experience in the field of engineering geology.  As a senior engineering geologist with Cotton, Shires and Associates (CSA), Mr. Mead is responsible for several geologic and geotechnical duties such as: site specific geologic and geotechnical exploration of both surface and subsurface features; assisting in geotechnical peer reviews for the Bay Area municipalities; investigation and research in support of expert witness testimony; preparation of site specific three dimensional computer models for use in analysis, design and litigation; construction inspection for large landslide mitigation projects as well as smaller infrastructure improvements; topographic surveying; and installation and monitoring of inclinometers, oiezometers and other instrumentation. In addition Mr. Mead is the Radiation Safety Officer for the organization. Prior to his employment at CSA, Mr. Mead developed his skills as a geologist while attending the University of Oregon.  During his undergraduate study, Mr. Mead took part in the collection of data for active fault research, geologic mapping, and aerial photo interpretation.  In addition to his course work in 1999, Mr. Mead was part of a GPS deployment team, which set up and monitored an array of Trimble choke ring antennae along the Colombia River Gorge in northern Oregon and southern Washington to measure regional uplift associated with the Juan de Fuca subduction zone.
